JCB opens dealership facility
Jamshedpur, Jun 7 (UNI) JCB India Ltd, the largest construction equipment company in the country, today announced opening of Jharkhand's state-of-the-art dealership facility at an investment of Rs 2.5 crore at Kalikapur in Seraikela-Kharsawan district.
Managing director of JCB India limited Vipin Sondhi told media persons that the dealership facility would be another step to reach closer to its customers.
He said JCB India, the market leader in the Backhoe Loader segment, holding 55 per cent share of the market in the country, proved the company's supremacy in the field of earth moving equipment. JCB had also achieved a landmark of selling over 50,000 machines in India since 1980, Mr Sondhi said.
He said the company had sold 10,800 equipment in 2006, thanks to recent boom in the construction industries in India.
Mr Sondhi said the JCB India's turnover was Rs 2000 crore last year and expected that it would increase this year.
General Manager (Sales) Sunil Tiku said the company had invested Rs 150 crore for Backhoe Loader plant in Haryana's Ballabgarh in the last fiscal while for Pune's plant the company had invested Rs 130 and 150 crore respectively for fabrication and heavyline manufacturing units.
