Hooda for adequate power supply during summer
Chandigarh, Jun 7 (UNI) Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda directed the Haryana Power Utilities to ensure adequate power supply during the summer season so that the people might not face any problem, especially due to unscheduled cuts.
The Chief Minister was presiding over a review meeting of the major projects of the Power Department here today.
Mr Hooda said Rs 7697 crore would be spent during the 11th Five Year Plan for strengthening the transmission system including augmentation of existing sub stations and construction of new substations and a sum of Rs 10,042 crore would be incurred for generation, renovation and modernisation of existing power systems.
He directed the Haryana Power Utilities Authorities to devise a plan so that the pilferage of power especially in the industries could be checked effectively.
He also suggested that comprehensive plan be chalked out so that Compact Flourscent Lamp (CFL) system could be introduced in the state in a phased manner.
Mr Hooda stressed that special arrangements should be made for supplying maximum power during the month of June, July, August and September as the temperature would be on peak during these months.
He said efforts should be made to regulate the system and adhere the schedule so that people could not suffer and the distribution and transmission of the power should also be streamlined.
