Heavy rain claims five lives in Bijapur District

Bijapur, June 7 (UNI) Heavy rain, accompanied by lightning, has claimed five lives, including one woman, in the District since last night.

Superintendent of Police Seemant K Singh said today that three people were killed when lightning struck them near Talikot in the District.

While one person died on the spot when lightning struck near Muddebihal, a woman was killed on the spot when roof of a house collapsed on her in Ganesha village in the District.

Heavy rain continuing in the District and water has entered houses in low lying areas.
