Hardcore Bangladeshi criminal in police remand

Barrackpore, Jun 7 (UNI) The Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate of Alipur today remanded Bangladeshi criminal Haris Ahmed alias Mohammad Hassan in police custody for further interrogation.

Ahmed, who is facing a red corner notice by the Interpol, was arrested yesterday from a Koikhali VIP Enclave flat under Rajarhat police station in North 24 Parganas. A special operation group of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) arrested him from his hideout.

Cases under sections 467,468,471 and 120B of the IPC and Section 14 of the foreigner's Act were registered against the Bangladeshi criminal.

The CID sleuths were on the lookout for the criminal, following the arrest of six Bangladeshi nationals from Kasba police station area of South 24 Parganas on March 17 last.

The CID also arrested another Bangladeshi, Tanvirul Islam alias Jay alias Tareque Rana, on May 5 last from Chinar Park.
