Guidelines for'Special Incentive Package Scheme' to be issued soo

New Delhi, June 7 (UNI) Guidelines for operationalising the 'Special Incentive Package Scheme' launched by the Department of Information Technology (DIT) will be issued soon, the Government said today.

''The guidelines to operationalise the scheme are being framed and will be issued soon,'' Communications and IT Minister A Raja said at a function organised to announce investment of over two billion dollars in India by Signet Solar.

The minister said an Appraisal Committee has already been set up in the Department.

Mr Raja further said the scheme would attract further investments in the semiconductors and other hi-tech areas which provide for special incentives including government participation in such ventures.

The state governments are also offering special package of incentives to such units. The scheme is valid up to March 31, 2010.

Mr Vilas Muttemwar, Minister for New and Renewable Energy, was also present on the occasion.

Signet Solar plans to set up three manufacture solar photovoltaic modules (fab) in the country.
