Elephant tramples tribal

Kalpetta, Kerala, Jun 7 (UNI) A 47-year-old tribal was trampled to death by a wild elephant at Kodavally forest area near here today.

The deceased was identified as Kariyan, a tribal, police said.

The tragedy occurred when the tribal had gone to collect fire-wood from the forest.

The local people found his body trampled by the elephant and had taken it to the hospital, the sources added.
