Eight of a family murdered over land dispute

Ranchi, Jun 7 (UNI) Altogether eight people of a family, including six children, were killed at Makunda village under Kuddu police station in Jharkhand's Loharadaga district yesterday, police today said.

Director General of Police J B Mahapatra told UNI here that Hanif Khan (50), his wife and six children were killed by his younger brother late last night while they were asleep.

Mr Mahapatra said reason for the murders was a land dispute.

The accused had used a sharp weapon to kill the victims. The bodies have been sent for post mortem and the investigation was on.
