DMK condems AIADMK for burning Karunanidhi's effigy
Puducherry, Jun 7 (UNI) Strongly condemning the AIADMK for allegedly burning an effigy of DMK president and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi here, Puducherry DMK convener R V Janakiraman today urged the territorial administration to take stringent action against the perpetrators.
Demanding that the culprits be booked under non-bailable sections, Mr Jankiraman, in a statement here said Chief Minister N Rangasamy should take immediate steps to arrest them.
The DMK would not remain a mute spectator if the administration failed to take action, the former chief minister warned.
The administration should not try to enact an 'arrest drama' as was done recently at the time of burning the effigy of Union Minister E V K S Ellangovan by the AIADMK here.
He said a hurriedly-convened meeting of the office-bearers of the party attended by legislators, former mlas and in-charges of constituencies was chalking out an action plan following the burning of Mr Karunanidhi's effigy.
