The audio CD, which contained conversation between Mr Tula Ram Patel and then PSS chairman regarding the selection process and interview, was released by Mr Patel, alleging corruption in PSC.

Mr Jangade's tenure as PSC chairman had ended in May this year.

The CGPSC was in the midst of controversies during the last two years. Its former chairman Ashok Darbari, a former Director General of state Police, was suspended following charges of irregularities and corruption in the state civil service examination.
