Cong seeks Chouhan's resignation on Shivpuri debacle

Bhopal, Jun 7 (UNI) The Congress today sought the resignation of Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan for the BJP's defeat in the Assembly byelection in Shivpuri.

''Mr Chouhan himself had made the bypoll a prestige issue.

Therefore, he should tender resignation for the BJP's defeat'', Congress General Secretary Incharge of Madhya Pradesh V Narayanasamy told reporters here today.

The Congress will again approach the Election Commission with a complaint seeking action against State's Water Resources Minister Anup Mishra for threatening government employees during electioneering in Shivpuri.

Mr Virendra Raghuvanshi of Congress wrested Shivpuri seat from BJP defeating BJP's Ganesh Gautam by 7781 votes. Mr Gautam had earlier contested for the seat four times on Congress ticket.
