Ahmedabad, June 7 (UNI) A local court today deferred the further hearing on ''narco analysis'' test on six police personnel, including three top IPS officers, arrested in the 2005 fake encounter of Sohrabuddin Sheikh, till June 14.

CID (crime) had moved an application before the CMM K J Upadhaya last month, the seeking court's directive for the scientific test.

However, lawyers for the arrested police personnel have opposed the application on different grounds.

The lawyer of IPS officer D G Vanzara the alleged prime accused in the case, told the court that Vanzara was a heart patient and the test might adversely affect HIS health. In support of his claim, he submitted a medical history report of his client, who was suffering from heart problem since 2002.

However, prosecution had opposed the defence's contention, saying that these people wanted to avoid examinations on filmsy grounds and prayed the court for its directive on scientific tests of the arrested police personnel.

On April 24, Gujarat Crime Branch officials arrested three high ranking IPS officers -- D G Vanzara, Rajkumar Pandian and Dinesh Kumar -- for their alleged involvement in a fake encounter killing of Sohrabuddin Sheikh on November 26, 2005. The operation was carried out jointly by the Gujarat ATS and the Rajasthan Police and he was killed at Vishala Circle, on the outskirts of city.

Later, Crime Branch had arrested three more police personnel in connection with this case.
