Civil Judge attacked in Punjab

Phagwara June 7 (UNI) Nawanshahar's Civil Judge, Ms Priya Sood and her husband Muneesh Sood were allegedly attacked by two unidentified armed motorcyclists near the Chahal Nagar traffic lights here on NH-1 last night, police said today.

Phagwara DSP H P S Khakh said, according to FIR lodged by Mr Sood, they were returning from a dinner party, when suddenly two motorcyclists attacked them with a "Datar" (sharp edged weapon). As the car's doors were locked the attackers failed in their attempt.

According to the police the motorcyclists chased the Sood couple, but they retraced their steps when the husband of the judicial officer halted the car near the police control room. The couple escaped unhurt, police said.

Police has registered a case, but no arrests have been made.
