Thiruvananthapuram, June 7 (UNI) 'Chitrasalabham' telecasted on Amrita TV has been selected as the best tele series and 'Goli,' shown on Jeevan TV, adjudged the best telefilm in the Kerala State Television Awards 2006.

Cultural Affairs Minister M A Baby told mediapersons here that Manu, who produced the telefilm 'Goli', also won the award for best Director and story writer.

The best documentary award went to 'Bhagya: Janatipatyathile Pattukari' aired on Jeevan TV, while Manilal Padavoor bagged the award for the best documentary Director. Shani T P of the Malayala Manorama Television was the best news reader.

While T G Ravi won the best actor award for the telefilm 'Nizhal Roopam,' the best actress award went to Shelli N Kumar.

A report from Kozhikode said scribes Akbarali Puthunagaram and P K Prakash, both of Madhyamam and P J Shelli of Kerala Kaumudi were presented with Madhava Kurup, Thruvatha Raman and Unnikrishnan awards respectively at a function here.

While Akbarali and Prakash got the awards for best reporting, Shelli bagged it for his photography.

All the three awards, instituted by the Calicut Press Club, carried cash prizes of Rs 10,000 Rs 5,000 and Rs 10,000, respectively and citations.

Scribes Krishnan Kanjirangod of Mangalam and N S Nizar of Madhyamam were also conferred with Mushtaq award, comprising of Rs 5,000 each and citations, sponsored by Kozhikode District Football Association for best sports reporting and photography.

The awards were presented by well-known writer and activist Sukumar Azhikode.
