Holding himself responsible for failing to control the violence which claimed eight lives, Mr Bissa said he would have just one meal a day and would not shave during the period in respect of the the departed souls.
He also announced that he would perform ''kanyadaan'' of a daughter from each affected family.
Mr Bissa said Bhagawanlal Memorial Trust formed in the memory of his late father will bear the expenditure of the weddings.
The official was also injured while trying to save former MLA Nathulal Gujjar.
''I am doing this for my mental peace. From day one I was pained by the loss of life and carrying a big burden on my mind. I want to leave this painful incident behind me with atonement. This is my personal decision,'' said the collector.
