AI services on Oman hit following cyclone Gonu

New Delhi, June 7 (UNI) Air India's services to and from Oman have been adversely hit following the powerful tropical cyclone Gonu hitting the coastline.

The Oman airport has been shut down, AI said in a statement.

''Communication lines are down and the airspace in the region has been closed,'' said the statement.

The services in the Gulf region have been adversely hit and all flights are expected to fly over Pakistan and Iran for which permission is still awaited, AI said in the statement.

AI's low-cost subsidiary AI Express operates ten flights from India to Muscat per week.
