23-yr-old dies in Tihar due to dehydration

New Delhi, June 7 (UNI) A person lodged in Tihar Jail under 'preventive custody' has died reportedly due to dehydration and abdomen pain.

Amit (23), taken into preventive custody by Narela police on June 4 under Section 107, 151 Cr PC, died yesterday at Deendayal Upadhyay Hospital, where he was admitted after he complained of giddiness and abdominal pain, said Tihar spokesman Sunil Kumar.

He died at about 1700 hrs yesterday apparently due to dehydration, as initial investigations suggest, he added.
