UP budget session likely in last week of June

Lucknow, June 6: The budget session of the Uttar Pradesh assembly is expected to commence in the last week of this month when the newly-elected Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) government will present the budgetary proposals of the current fiscal.

''The budget session of the assembly is expected from June 27 but the exact date would be announced after the state cabinet meeting,'' sources here today said.

The previous Mulayam Singh Yadav government had taken vote-on-account for the first four months of the current financial year before the April-May assembly polls.

Meanwhile, the state assembly will organise a two-day orientation programme for first-time MLAs on June 25 and 26.
