Three police personnel injured in a group clash
Tumkur, Jun 6 (UNI) Prohibitory orders under Section 144 has been clamped even as several people, including three police personnel, were injured today in a group clash between two communities over a piece of land used as burial ground in the outskirts.
Police said that trouble started when people belonging to one community tried to bury a dead body in the disputed land they were prevented by people belonging to another community.
Teargas shells were lobbed when lathi charge found futile to quell the groups which indulged in stone pelting at each other.
Three police personnel among several others were injured in the incident.
The situation was stated to be tense but under control.
Additional police force had been rushed.
