Three injured in a village group clash
Moga, June 6 (UNI) Three persons were seriously injured in a clash between two groups in Rajiwala village last evening. police sources today said.
According to the police, ex-sarpanch Gurdev Singh alongwith 12 of his armed followers resorted to indiscriminate firing when the present sarpanch Bachan Singh resisted his attempts to occupy a village pond. The sarpanch alongwith the other panches had taken possession of the pond after a local civil court had decided the case in favour of the panchayat.
The panchayat was engaged in desilting the pond when the ex-sarpanch with his followers opened fire, injuring three persons.
All the injured were rushed to the civil hospital here.
Police has registerd a case under sections 307, 323 and 506 of the IPC and also under the Arms Act. Till now no arrests have been made by the police.
