Several wounded as BSP activists clash with cops
Lucknow, June 6: Scores, including two policemen, were injured as members of the ruling Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) clashed with police in Kishni area of Mainpuri district this morning.
Incensed over the auction of the property of BSP leader Nirmal Singh, who is wanted in the murder of a Samajwadi Party worker Ashish Yadav alias Neelu, BSP activists pelted the police station with stones and torched a PAC truck and two motorcycles.
Police fired several rounds in the air to control the situation.
The BSP leader is husband of Nagar Palika chairperson Sarla Chauhan.
The SP worker was murdered on May 26 and Singh is absconding since then.
Meanwhile, police in strength has been deployed to avoid any fresh violence. The situation was under control, police said.
