School principals appointed as Central Public Information Officers

Chandigarh, Jun 6 (UNI) The Chandigarh Administration has appointed principals and headmasters of Government and Government-aided schools as Central Public Information Officers under the Right to Information Act, 2005, with immediate effect.

The District Education Officer (DEO) in respect of DEO's Office and Block Education Officer (BEO) in respect of primary schools have also been appointed as Central Public Information Officers.

The DEO, Chandigarh, has been appointed the first appellate authority in respect of the schools of the UT Education Department under the RTI Act.
