Pondy: Sankaraman murder case posted to July 16
Puducherry, Jun 6: A local court, hearing the Sankaraman murder case in which Kanchi acharyas Jayendra and Vijayendra Saraswati are prime accused, today posted the case to July 16.
Eleven of the 24 accused, including the seers, failed to turn up before the Principal District and Sessions Judge M Chinnapandi.
Petitions citing reasons for absence were filed by their respective counsel.
The proceedings in the case could not be conducted here as a Special Leave Petition (SLP), challenging the continued appearance of Tamil Nadu Special Public Prosecutor in the case was pending before the Supreme Court.
The SLP filed on behalf of the defence was pending till May last year.
