Chennai, Jun 6 (UNI) Volunteers of the opposition AIADMK today thronged the Poes Garden residence of party supremo and former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa here and her Kodanadu estate bungalow following rumours that sleuths of Income Tax were conducting raids in the two premises.

About 200 party workers gathered in front of Ms Jayalalithaa's residence here this morning as rumours spread like wild fire that IT personnel descended on the premises in the absence of Ms Jayalalithaa, who was away in Hyderabad.

A host of television channel reporters and press photographers rushed to Poes Garden. However, when it became clear that there was no such raid, the volunteers and the media persons dispersed.

A similar scene was witnessed at Kodanadu in Nilgiris district, where she allegedly owns an Estate bungalow, also following rumours of IT raid, a report from Coimbatore said.

Ms Jayalalithaa was in Hyderabad to attend a meeting of seven regional parties convened by former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Telugu Desam Party(TDP) President N Chandrababu Naidu to decide the presidential candidate issue.
