Parrikar re-elected leader of BJP legislature party

Panaji, June 6 (UNI) Former chief minister Manohar Parrikar was unanimously re-elected leader of the BJP opposition in the Goa Legislative Assembly here today.

The candidature of Mr Parrikar was proposed by Dayanand Mandrekar and seconded by former minister Francis D'Souza. All the 14 newly elected BJP legislators were present on the occasion.

The decision to re-elect Mr Parrikar was taken in the presence of the party's central observor and general secretary Gopinath Munde, national spokesperson in charge of Goa, Rajiv Pratap Rudy and party president of Goa unit Shripad Naik, MP, at a special meeting at the party headquarters here.

The BJP legislature party unanimously resolved to sit in the Opposition in the new House.
