Notorious Bangladeshi criminal arrested from city

Barrackpore, Jun 6 (UNI) Sleuths of Criminal Investigation Department (CID) today apprehended a Bangladeshi criminal from his Kaikhali hide out at Rajarhat in North 24 Parganas this afternoon.

DIG CID (Operation) Rajib Kumar said that Harish Ahmed alias Mohammad Hassan, a notorious criminal of Dhaka, Bangladesh, charged with at least 50 murders cases and several cases of extertion had taken shelter at a Kaikhali house near VIP Enclave.

Interpol had issued red corner alert against Harish Ahmed, Mr Kumar said.

The raid at his hideout was made by a special team of CID following a tip off. The criminal had been living in a rented flat for last eight years. The documents seized from his possession revealed that he was possessing a fake PAN card and a ration card which was issued to him on the basis of a residential certificate provided to him by the Rajarhat Gopalpore Municipality.
