MP airstrips being developed for pilot training
Bhopal, June 6 (UNI) Different airstrips in Madhya Pradesh are being developed to facilitate pilot training and other aviation activities besides speedy travel, official sources said.
Apart from the airports at Indore, Gwalior, Bhopal, Khajuraho and Jabalpur, airstrips are at present available in 24 districts of the state.
Administrative sanction had been given for developing an airstrip at a cost of Rs 1 crore in Khargone, while the state government provided Rs 30 lakh for developing such facility at Umaria to facilitate convenient access to the nearby Bandhavgarh national park, sources said.
Airstrips of Neemuch, Khargone, Shivpuri, Guna, Sagar, Satna, Pachmarhi, Sidhi, Rewa, Chhindwara, Jhabua and Balaghat were being developed for pilot training, engineers training and other aviation related activities. Proposals had been invited from various agencies in that regard, the sources added.
Different public and private sector organisations were maintaining airstrips at Damoh, Betul, Shahdol, Nagda and Sarni.
