Mentally challenged woman throws infant into well

Kannur, June 5 (UNI) A mentally disabled woman threw a 39-day-old infant into a well attached to the Mahila Mandiram at Thalassery here today.

The Mahila Mandiram workers fished out the baby from the well after they heard the cry of the infants mother, Beena.

However, the baby dead before reaching hospital.

Only two weeks back, police shifted Beena and her two children aged one-and-half and the infant to the Mahila Mandiram.

The mentally disabled women, Manju hailed from Kolkata.
