Malaria claims one in Nagaland
Kohima, June 6 (UNI) One person has died of malaria in Dimapur district of Nagaland and dozens of people are suffering from the disease across the state, official sources said.
Malaria has turned into epidemic in Asom and some of the north eastern states.
The sources admitted that several persons in Dimapur, Kohima and other districts bordering Asom and foothill areas are suffering from Malaria and some of them were admitted in the government hospitals.
Unofficial sources claimed that over half a dozen of people so far died in Malaria in private nursing homes in Kohima and Dimapur.
The health and family welfare department of the state government has already directed all district units to be prepared for any outbreak of malaria in their respective districts with all equipment and medicines, and instructed the staff of the department not to leave the station without prior permission of the directorate.
