Chennai, June 6 (UNI) Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi today said his predecessor and AIADMK supremo J Jayalalithaa faced the danger of disqualification from contesting elections in future, if it was proved that she had withheld details about the Kodanadu estate bungalow in the list of properties disclosed while filing nominations in the last elections.

Talking to newspersons here, he said a journalist had told him that the AIADMK leader had not disclosed the details of the property when she filed the nomination for contesting in the 2006 Assembly elections.

''I don't know how far it is true, but if it happens to be correct, then Ms Jayalalithaa will not only be disqualified from contesting elections in future, but her election to the Assembly in 2006 will also be set aside,'' he said.

Asked whether the DMK would present a memorandum to the Election Commission, seeking action against Ms Jayalalithaa, he said ''through the question, you have given a suggestion. It will be considered.'' To a question whether the government would take action for building the Kodanadu estate bungalow in violation of rules, Mr Karunanidhi said action would be taken as per the law.

However, the reports of a raid at Ms Jayalalithaa's poes garden residence were false, he added.
