India to implement International Health Regulations from June 15
New Delhi, Jun 6 (UNI) Health Minister Anbumani Ramadoss today said the country would not face any problem in implementing the International Health Regulations from June 15 to provide public health security.
The Regulations adopted by 193 members at the World Health Assembly asks the member countries to strengthen disease surviellance and response and set up Border Posts to prevent entry/ spread of diseases across borders. It also makes it mandatory for countries to record all public health events like Avian Influenza, Small pox, polio and SARS cases.
''We will have no problem as our country has never hidden anything,''Dr Ramadoss told mediapersons.
He said India has a good surveillance system and responds to various diseases properly.
