HC defers Chandraswami's plea for abroad visit
New Delhi, Jun 6 (UNI) Delhi High Court has deferred till July 12 the hearing on the application of Nemi Chand Jain, alias Godman Chandraswami, seeking permission to go abroad.
Justice Reva Khetrapal on May 28, fixed July 12 as the next date of hearing.
Godman Chandraswami had expressed a desire to visit few countries, including the United States and Europe to meet his disciples.
As many as 11 cases of Foreign Exchange Violation Act(FERRA) are pending against him.
The Enforcement Directorate is opposing the Godman's application, for they have apprehension that if allowed, he will never return.
Besides, the Enforcement Directorate is also of the view that the Godman will influence the witnesses staying abroad.
