Govt clerk accused of misappropriation of fund in police remand

Basirhat, Jun 6 (UNI) The sub-divisional Judicial Magistrate court here today remanded a government official of Block Development Office at Hingalganj to police custody for three days, official sources said.

According to police, Head clerk of Hingalgunge Block Development Office Gautam Chakrabarty was arrested last night for his alleged involvement misappropriation of fund of Panchayet and the Panchayet Samity to the tune of Rs.3.95 lakh. He was produced before the Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate here.

The arrest was made following an FIR lodged with the Hingalgaunge police station by the concerned Block Development Officer Samir Das, police added.
