Fishes found dead in pond, irrigation department blamed
Anand, June 6 (UNI) All fishes in a privately owned pond in this district died recently, allegedly due to contaminated irrigation water entering the pond.
Madanbhai Sanabhai Chavda has logged a complaint with the police in this regard and claimed he has suffered losses to the tune of Rs six lakh.
Mr Chavda, a fish farmer, took a pond on rent from the fisheries department and introduced two species of fishes: 'Jinga' and 'Machi' into the pond on June 3. A day later he noticed all his fishes lying dead.
