Euro falls as ECB maintains 2008 inflation call
NEW YORK, June 6 (Reuters) The euro edged lower against the dollar on Wednesday after European Central Bank President Jean-Claude Trichet did not give clear indications the central bank would continue raising interest rates beyond 2007.
The euro slipped below $1.3500 to $1.3497 after Trichet said the ECB would not change its 2008 inflation forecast. It was at $1.3515 before his remarks.
The ECB hiked rates as expected to 4 percent and markets are still expecting at least one more hike this year.
