Delhi's tax collection up by over Rs 500 cr in two months
New Delhi, Jun 6 (UNI) Delhi has reported an increase by over Rs 500 crore in tax collection in the first two months of the current financial year.
The collections have gone up to Rs 2221.52 crore during months of April and May this year, as against Rs 1782.32 crore in the corresponding period last year.
The increase in collection of stamps and registration fees comes to 105.72 per cent followed by 27.26 per cent in taxes on vehicles, 24.71 per cent in state excise and entertainment and 12.80 per cent in VAT, state Finance and Planning Minister A K Walia today.
The collection during April was 1160.51 crore whereas 1061.01 crore last month. Collections in Stamps and registration fees went up from Rs 188.28 crore to Rs 387.34 crore, in VAT from Rs 1306.53 Crore to Rs 1473.75 crore, in state excise and entertainment from Rs 213.85 crore to Rs. 266.69 crore and in taxes on vehicles from Rs 73.66 crore to Rs 93.74 crore.
Dr Walia has expressed satisfaction over pace of increase in tax collection.
