CPI occupies 150 acres of land in AP

Hyderabad, Jun 6 (UNI) Communist Party of India (CPI) state unit today occupied more than 150 acres of Govenrment land to provide house sites to the poor as part of their 'Bhooporatam' in the state.

According to a press release here, more than 1500 poor families have occupied 50 acres of Government land at Balapur in the capital city and pitched tents and thached houses. The agitation was orgnaised under the leadership of MP Ajij Pasha.

The CPI activists along with the poor people have occupied five acres of endowment lands near Guntakal in Anatapur district, five acres at Gannavaram in Krishna district, 42 acres of land at Kottur in Nellore district and five acres near Kothaseema in East Godavari district as part of the land occupation programme.
