CII state council meets senior officials of TN govt

Chennai, June 6 (UNI) The Tamil Nadu state council of Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) today held discussions with senior level officials of the Tamil Nadu government to work together on urban development initiatives.

The CII team suggested various ideas and best practices within India and abroad with regard to urban development models and also several probable areas for collaboration, according to a CII release here.

Speaking during the meeting on 'Building Inclusive Cities - Chennai' in the Secretariat, state council CII Chairman Gopal Srinivasan announced that CII would support and work closely with the respective nodal agencies to implement these initiatives.

State Information and Publicity Minister Parithi Ellamvazhuthi congratulated CII on its initiative and said the Tamil Nadu government was keen to work in a collaborative way to make Chennai more livable, economically vibrant and environmentally sustainable and with better assets for the future generations.

He also welcomed the suggestions made by the CII on various city improvement measures, the release added.
