Children from Kashmir start schooling in Kerala
Kannur, June 6 (UNI) Ten children from the Ladakh, Drass and Kargil regions of Kashmir, adopted by the Indian military, today started another academic year at the Chinmaya Balabhavan school here.
The children, including three girls reached here yesterday and joined the others at the school.
Last year also five children joined the school, school principal Sujeetha Rajan said.
The Ladakh Army Welfare Association selected the children from the bordering regions and sent them to various schools for education. All the facilities for their education, including the school and hostel fees, were being provided free.
The principal said though the children who came last year found it difficult to mingle with other children because of language barrier, they have now picked up.
