Cadaver disinterred from burial ground for new life
Kendrapada, Jun 06 (UNI) A cadaver was disinterred from the burial ground with a hope to bring fresh life in it as promised by a black magician in a remote coastal village of Orissa.
But the black conjurer was beaten up by the villagers after he failed to insurrect life in the dead body with the professed super power. He was later rescued by the locals.
Police said the case has come to the limelight on Tuesday last where the villagers driven by blind believe, had disinterred the body from the burial ground after a black magician of the locality claimed to give fresh lease of life to a seven year old boy killed by snake bite on Monday night while he was asleep.
The incident happened in Salamanga village under Tulanga Gram Panchayat of Tirtol police station, 65 kms from here.
According to the villagers the boy was first taken to a nearby Dadhibanjew temple by the family members who poured bathing water of Lord Dadhibabanjew on the child's mouth.
When the condition of the boy deteriorated, the family members admitted the child in the local district Head quarter hospital where he succumbed to the snake bite.
The body was then buried by the parents in a burial ground. On Tuesday morning, a black magician said that his guru could revive the dead child.
On arrival of the guru, the body was dug out. He then organised a special prayer in front of the cadaver and poured water on the corpse in front of the villagers.
As the black magicians claim of possessing miracle power failed to bring life on the cadaver, the villagers attacked them.
Later, some locals with the help of police personnel managed to rescue the two black magician from the wrath of the villagers.
