BMC malls will not compete with private malls: Waikar
Mumbai, June 6 (UNI) The proposed Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) malls will not compete with existing private malls and the concept of the BMC malls will be completely different, said Ravindra Waikar chairman of Standing Committee.
Talking to reporters here, Mr Waikar said''The BMC will repair the existing markets and upgrade them and accomodate all the daily requirement goods in the malls.'' The existing markets will be given an additional FSI and will have a very clean environment on par with the private malls, he said.
Mr Waikar said the BMC plans to serve the people with these malls and if in the run makes money, it will be utilised for its development.
The BMC has allocated Rs 15 crore as a token amount for the malls, he said adding that there will be no dearth of investments.
