Hyderabad, June 6 (UNI) The blasting of the three high tension transmission towers near Narayanpur in Bastar Division on May 31, has paralysed the production of iron ore in the NMDC mines in Chattisgarh at Bailadila.

According to an NMDC release here today the loss so far was estimated at more than Rs 54 crore. The loss of production was about 60,000 tonnes per day, in monetary terms it would be about Rs nine crore per day.

Even as NMDC was extending all assistance to restore power supply in the state, it was learnt that it would take six to seven days more to restore the power supply, the release said.

The disruption had stopped iron ore movement from the Bailadila projects of NMDC to steel plants and pig iron plants around Raipur, besides major customers like Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited (RINL), Essar, Ispat Industries Limited and Vikram Ispat.

''It has severely affected the life of common man since there has been no supply of water and electricity in the township and other areas,'' the relase added.
