New Delhi, June 6 (UNI) In a clear assertion that former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee would still be very much around in the post 2009 scenario, senior BJP leader Sushma Swaraj today said that leadership in the BJP in the 2009 general elections was a 'settled issue'.

Participating in an interview with CNN-IBN, Mrs Swaraj, BJP Deputy Leader in Rajya Sabha, said Mr Vajpayee is the Chairman of the National Democratic Alliance and naturally will be the leader (for the 2009 elections). ''Where is the question of leadership problem?'' she sought to know.

"If Mr Vajpayee decides not to contest, then Mr L K Advani, the Leader of Opposition, will be the leader. There is no question of anyone else being considered when the two are around", she added.

Mrs Swaraj's statement seems to be at variance with BJP President Rajnath Singh assertion during elections in Uttar Pradesh that Mr Advani is the 'natural choice' after Mr Vajpayee.

After the BJP President's statement last month, Mr Vajpayee, too, scoffed at the suggestions that he was in the retirement mode, with his quip, "retirement and me!", giving enough indications that he was very much around.
