Two undertrial prisoners die in hospital

Thiruvananthapuram, June 5 (UNI) Two undertrials who were undergoing treatment, died in separate incidents in Kerala in the last 24 hours.

While 38-year-old Ramesh died at the Government Hospital at Thalassery today, Ramachandran (44) from Pathanamthitta sub-jail died at the Medical College Hospital here yesterday.

Ramesh was arrested by the Kannavam police from Mahe on June two on the charge of violating the Abkari Act. However, he complained of chest pain while he was produced before a local court at Thalassery and was admitted to the Government Hospital.

Ramachandran was arrested by the Adoor Police in connection with an Abkari case and sent to the Pathanamthitta sub-jail on February 20. As he complained of illness, he was admitted to the Medical College here.
