Two arrested with 64 kg poppy husk

Jalandhar, Jun 5 (UNI) Police have arrested two drug smugglers in two separate cases and seized 64 kg of poppy husk from their possession in the district today.

In a press release issued here today, Senior Superintendent of Police Aprit Shukla said that in the first case the police recovered 60 kg poppy husk from Surjit Singh, a resident of Sangowal village.

In another case, Paramjeet Singh, a resident of Railway Road, Nakodar village, was arrested by Bilga police and 4 kg of poppy husk was recovered from his possession.

Both of them were booked under Sections 15, 61, 85 of the NDPS Act and further investigations were on, he said.
