Tiwari surrenders in violation of model code of conduct case

Gopalganj, Jun 5 (UNI) JD(U) spokesman Shivanand Tiwari today surrendered before a local court and was granted bail in connection (sm) with a case of violation of election code during the Lok Sabha polls in 1998.

Mr Tiwari appeared before first class Judicial Magistrate Girish Mishra and filed the bail petition, which was accepted by the court.

Earlier, the case was filed against Mr Tiwari at Barauli police station in Gopalganj district on January 23, 1998, for unveiling a statue at Devapur village without the prior permission of the district administration during the Lok Sabha elections-1998.
