RJD launches statewide agitation against NDA government

Patna, Jun 5 (UNI) Coinciding with the total revolution day today, the RJD has launched a statewide agitation against Nitish Kumar government in Bihar.

The RJD have alleged that the present government had failed to check crime in the state and also utilise funds released by the Centre for various welfare and poverty alleviation programmes.

The party leaders in various districts had called upon the people to come on streets against the NDA government, which failed to keep the promise to improve law and order within three months of coming into power.

Newly enforced police and municipal corporation act in the state were other issues, which were prominently raised by the leaders on the occasion.

Meanwhile, senior RJD leader and union rural development minister Raghuvansh Prasad Singh launched the membership drive in the state and called upon the party workers to inform the people about the failure of the Nitish Kumar government in fulfilling the people's aspiration.

He also alleged that the government was working against the interests of minorities, adding that more efforts were needed to protect the interests of the minorities and downtrodden.

''The UPA government at the Cente had pumped sufficient funds for execution of various welfare and poverty alleviation programmes in Bihar but Nitish government failed to utilise it properly and was instead always engaged in mud-slinging on the Centre,''Mr Singh mainatined.
