Nine militants arrested in Meghalaya
Shillong, June 5 (UNI) In a major breakthrough, Meghalaya police today arrested nine A'chik National Liberation Front (ANLF-A) militants from Nongchram area in East Garo Hills.
Police also seized an ANLF-A rubber stamp and incriminating documents from their possession.
East Garo Hills District Superintendent of Police O Pasi said the nine militants were arrested after the police kept a long surveillance on their movements and activities in the districts.
The arrested group was led by a former member of the banned A'chik National Volunteer's Council, police said, adding that interrogation was on to glean further information about their activities.
