Namdhari's victory a milestone in state politics:BJP

Ranchi, Jun 5 (UNI) Asserting that the Daltonganj assembly bypoll result would be a milestone in Jharkhand's politics, the BJP today said it was a victory over opportunism and selfishness.

Party's spokesperson Biranchi Narayan said major parties tried to influence voters through caste equation but the result in favour of Inder Singh Namdhari was a wise decision of the electorate.

Mr Namdhari (Independent) retained the Daltonganj seat defeating his nearest rival Anil Chourasia of All Jharkhand Student Union with the margin of 10,193 votes.

Mr Namdhari polled 41,637 votes against Mr Chourasai's 31,444.
