Namdhari leads by 11000 votes after 9th round in Daltonganj

Daltonganj, June 5 (UNI) Independent candidate and former Jharkhand Assembly Speaker Inder Singh Namdhari is leading by more than 11,000 votes over his nearest rival Anil Chaurasia of All Jharkhand Students' Union after ninth round of counting for the by-election to the Daltonganj Assembly seat.

Congress candidate K N Tripathy was placed in the third position followed by BSP's Bobby Khan.

Counting began at 0800 hrs today amid tight security. The polling for the assembly was held on June 2.

About 2.5 lakh voters exercised their franchise in the bypoll that was necessitated after Mr Namdhari resigned from the seat following an intra-party conflict.
