Lok Sabha Speaker recovering after breathlessness complaint

New Delhi, June 5 (UNI) Lok Sabha Speaker Somnath Chatterjee today underwent a series of ''routine diagnostic tests'' at the Research and Referral (RR) Hospital, here following complaints of breathlessness this morning.

Informed sources said Mr Chatterjee had this problem before but his visit to Shimla for the two-day South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) parliamentarians conference led to increase in breathlessness due to high altitude and change in temperature there.

Mr Chatterjee is likely to be sent home this afternoon after the tests are over.

Mr Chatterjee's health was absolutely normal and there was no cause for concern, the sources said.
